How to take care of your candle | candle care tips
Candles can be a gift of celebration, a sign of relaxation, or even bring back a holiday memory. We want to be sure your candle has a clean burn and lasts as long as possible so you can enjoy your favorite scent! To burn your candles safely and efficiently, follow these tips to care for your candle!

Trimming your wick with wick scissors

CANDLE CARE TIPS

1. Be sure to trim your wick to 1/4 inch each time you go to light your candle. You can trim your wick using wick scissors that are designed to trim your wick to the perfect length. This will prevent uneven burning and flaring on each burn.

2. Burn your candle for the recommended amount of time to create an even wax pool. A good way to check this is to see if the wax pool has reached the edge of the candle jar! This will also prevent candle tunneling. Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours.

3. Don't blow your candle out! Instead, use a candle snuffner to extinguish your flame. This will preserve your candle's scent, as well as prevent hot wax from splattering.

4. If needed, use your wick dipper to re-center your wick to ensure a proper burn, as well as remove any debris that may have fallen off into your wax. You can even use your wick dipper to extinguish your candle without any smoke, or clean any wax that may have built up around the rim. There are so many uses for this tool in your candle care kit!

Our candle care kits combine all of these tools into one convenient kit! Each kit includes a candle snuffer, wick scissors, and wick dipper to help you take the best care of your candle.
